How a Couples Massage Works

You arrive together and each meet your own massage therapist for a short intake.
You share a private couples room, each on your own massage table.
Your therapists start together and coordinate the session from there.
Each therapist customizes the massage for their patient. One of you can ask for lighter pressure while the other goes firmer.
Talk if you like, or don’t. Plenty of people just close their eyes.

Most couples book for relaxation, but your massages don’t have to match. If either of you needs a specific treatment, like deep tissue massage or prenatal massage, tell us when you book and your therapists will plan for it at intake.

How to Book a Couples Massage Online

Online booking for two takes one extra step. Here’s how:

Under “I would like to book an appointment for,” open the dropdown menu and choose “couple.”
Open the Massage tab, then Couples Massage, and select the 60 or 90 Minute Couples Massage. You can add enhancements under Suggested Add-Ons.
Pick a provider for each guest, or choose “Any Provider” for the most options.
Enter both guests’ names, then choose your date and time and check out.

Have a Therapist Preference? Set It Before Your Visit

If either of you would prefer a male or female therapist, arrange it before your appointment. You can choose specific therapists when you book online, or call or text and we’ll help. Check your confirmation and reminder emails to see which therapists you’re scheduled with. On the day of your appointment, you’ll be seen by the therapists you’re scheduled with, and we’re rarely able to switch therapists at that point.

Your couples massage takes place in a private room set up for two, with a massage table for each of you. Both Hand in Health clinics, Downtown Syracuse and North Syracuse, have a couples room.

Every licensed massage therapist on our team provides couples massage, so you can book with the therapists you already know or choose “Any Provider” for the most openings. Each massage is customized to the person on the table, and we use unscented, hypoallergenic products.

Plan to arrive about 5 minutes early. If you haven’t completed your online intake form, arrive about 10 minutes early so there’s time to fill it out.
